ME TEDD - THERMAL EVENT DETECTION DEVICE
The ME TEDD Range integrates a diverse array of sensors designed to enable precise detection of thermal events. Available in 3 recommended spec levels which provide varying levels of feedback information, reaction time, safety ratings and redundancy maximising compatibility with different applications.
TYPES OF SENSORS
GAS SENSING
Gases in a thermal runaway propagate faster than heat can be measured. Detecting increases in H2 or CO2 serves as crucial redundancy in identifying Li-ion cell thermal runaway.
Monitoring either can prompt rapid response.
PRESSURE SENSING
Pressure sensors can detect thermal events based on pressure gradients.
HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE SENSING
An increase of humidity and temperature are additional indicators for thermal events.
ACCELERATION SENSING
Strong mechanical shocks can damage the cells.
